Skin Booster/ Polynucleotide Aftercare

  1. Redness and Swelling: This is very common and typically subside after a few days. Treatment around the eye area may take longer to settle (possibly 5-7 days). Arnica and a cool compress can help soothe the skin.

  2. Avoid: Do not drink too much water immediately after treatment – water will be drawn to the injection sites and discourage the product from spreading under the skin

  3. Gentle Cleansing: Cleanse with cool water – your skin will most likely be sensitive after treatment and hot water may feel uncomfortable. Wash your face with cool water and remember to pat dry rather than rub your skin, do not exfoliate for 3-5 days after also use a soap-free cleanser.

  4. Skin Makeup: Do not wear makeup – try to keep your skin free of any cosmetic products for 1-2 days and use a high SPF.

  5. Avoid Touching Your Face: try not to touch your face, pick, peel or prod for a few days after the treatment.

  6. Exercise: avoid saunas, prolonged sun exposure or hot exercise classes (i.e. avoid sweating).

Avoid strenuous exercise for 7 days – this might cause inflammation

  7. Skincare: applying a good quality moisturiser regularly will aid recovery. Avoid products containing retinoids, AHA/BHA, salicyclic acid and other topical medication – we recommend avoiding these for 5 days

  8. Healing Time: give your skin some time to heal and repair before having another treatment. This includes botox, fillers, laser treatments, microdermabrasion and chemical peels as well as waxing, spray tans, tanning beds and any other beauty or aesthetic treatment.

  9. Sleep: try to sleep face up and slightly elevated if you experience swelling

  10. Lifestyle: Avoid caffeine, alcohol and smoking – try to avoid these for 48 hours after treatment.
